About Me

Hi Folks and welcome to www.dogslocality.com. My name is Mercy, I am an experienced and knowledgeable Information Technology professional in Systems administration & Tech Engineer, Website designing and a Photography enthusiast.

I am a Dog aficionado and a believer in the saying “Dogs are man’s best friend”. Together these were the inspiration to come up with www.dogslocality.com.This is a place where I share everything about dogs, including on how to love them more, grooming, training, understanding our dear friends and the general ways of having the best relationship with them.

Dogs fill up that space that is meant for humans better than the humans in your life. They are loyal, smart, forgiving, cheerful, etc. All this are some of the qualities you expect in a human best friend, but you can get them from a dog.

They are awesome creatures with very beautiful hearts. They can easily fill up the void of a missing best friend by doing almost everything a best friend does except speak. Dogs are the best companion. It is because of all these traits that this site was born. I hope we are going to have the best experience as we endeavor in this great journey of knowing our dogs more.

    Hello Mercy,

You have pointed out so many great things to keep in mind here. I grew up with dogs and barking was always a problem with some of them. It is often breed dependent. Some breeds and some individuals are inclined to back more than others.

I love that you pointed out the real reasons dogs bark. It is often just considered an annoyance or a bad habit but there are good reasons for dogs to bark. They can’t speak!

I think if a dog gets lots of attention from it’s owner it will be less likely to bark. If it develops a close bond with it’s humans it will feel more happy and content and not feel the need to bark endlessly.

Where I grew up we had a dog team so they were outdoor dogs but they came in to visit and some spent more time inside when they were older. Barking was a good thing since they scared off bears and alerted us when there were bears, moose or other things around. Different barks had different meanings. We could tell if the bark was about a large animal vs. a small one or if they were just talking.

I look forward to reading your other posts here.

Hi, Mercy! What a wonderful topic you chose to write about! I love animals too. We had a dog at home as well, have now two cats, very nice cats! Everybody should take care of dogs (and animals in general) and help if possible. If you treat dogs well, they will reward you with their friendship, loyalty, beautiful moments spent with them. keep up with supporting them and have a lot of fun writing about them. God work!

Mercy, Great post. We have a dog named Addy she is a wonderful part of our family. She is a really great guard dog for the family so you always know when someone new is entering the house as she will bark to let everyone know that she is on duty and for that person to be aware she is around. I look forward on some posts about training.

Wow, you are spot on with your comment about dogs fulfilling the space humans are meant to. We have a dog and she is awesome. She is always happy to see us, and gets super excited to go on walks. She never complains about our cooking either! The only thing…she doesn’t like to take a bath :). Dogs are great, and I agree with everything you said. Thanks for sharing!

I love your website! This is something I’d definitely be interested in reading about. I have two dogs at home, which I utterly adore, so I’d really like to know more about the different ways in which I can take better care of them. I already make sure they eat right, have enough water, get exercise and the basics! But I would be interested in reading more ways that I can make them happy.

    Hi Mercy,
Great article about dogs. Am not a dog owner and have negative experiences growing up around dogs.I have been attacked by a neighbor’s dog and our family dog used to attack or scare me with loud fierce barking any time I came home after hours.
Could you please touch on how to overcome dog phobia in your future articles?
    Keep up the great work!
